ROUTE 140 OVER CHARTERS BROOK
This three sided box culvert was a very complex project. Utilizing sheet piling we retained the earth and water to excavate 20' deep and install the precast footings, wingwalls and culvert pieces. One of the first bridge projects in CT to utilize ultra high performance concrete (UHPC). Running into 40 unforeseen timber piles and a much larger existing foundation than expected caused for some delays, but we took it in stride and were able to complete the project without substantial delays.
